“Covid-19 should be renamed COTTON EYE JOE (where did it come from, where did it go)”

The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic brought some to recall the lyrics in the traditional American country folk song “Cotton-Eyed Joe” (also known as “Cotton-Eye Joe")—“Where did it come from, where did it go.”

“The news: where did the corona virus come from? Me: WHERE DID IT GO WHERE DID IT COME FROM CORONA EYED JOE” was posted on Twitter by Bee Honeybee on March 12, 2020.

Wikipedia: 2019-20 coronavirus outbreak
The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic is an ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The outbreak was first identified in Wuhan, Hubei, China, in December 2019, and was recognised as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 March 2020.

Wikipedia: Cotton-Eyed Joe
“Cotton-Eyed Joe” (also known as “Cotton-Eye Joe”) is a traditional American country folk song popular at various times throughout the United States and Canada, although today it is most commonly associated with the American Southeast.

“Cotton-Eyed Joe” has inspired both a partner dance and more than one line dance that is often danced at country dance venues in the U.S. and around the world. The 1980 film Urban Cowboy sparked a renewed interest in the dance.
