NAALCP (NAACP + liberal)

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) founded in 1909 with the mission “to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.” Critics of the NAACP have argued that the organization promotes liberal values and disregards African Americans who hold conservative values (such as U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who was confirmed in October 1991).

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has dubbed the NAACP as the “NAALCP” (National Association for the Advancement of Liberal Colored People) to illustrate that conservatives of color aren’t welcome within the organization. “NAALCP” has been used by Limbaugh since at least 1991.

A similar nickname—adding the word “liberal”—is the National Organization for Liberal Women (NOLW) for the National Organization for Women (NOW).

Wikipedia: National Association for the Advancement of Colored People

Its name, retained in accordance with tradition, is one of the last surviving uses of the term colored people.

The NAACP bestows the annual Image Awards for achievement in the arts and entertainment, and the annual Spingarn Medals for outstanding positive achievement of any kind, on deserving African Americans. It has its headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland.

Wikipedia: Rush Limbaugh
Rush Hudson Limbaugh III (pronounced /ˈlɪmbɔː/; born January 12, 1951) is an American radio host, conservative political commentator, and an influential opinion leader in conservative politics and Conservatism in the United States. He hosts The Rush Limbaugh Show which is aired throughout the U.S. on Premiere Radio Networks and is the highest-rated talk-radio program in the United States. Limbaugh signed a $400 million contract extension with Clear Channel in 2008.

He was born into a family with a long history of involvement in Republican politics and first began working at a local radio station at age sixteen. In 1984, after a series of radio related jobs, Limbaugh began working as a radio talk show host in Sacramento, California at radio station KFBK, which still airs his syndicated program today. His unique program featured no guests, relying exclusively on his conservative political analysis for content. He moved to New York City in 1988 where he began the national broadcast of his program on WABC radio. His program grew in popularity and he began his rise to national fame.

In the 1990s, Limbaugh’s fame grew beyond radio, into publishing and television. He became a bestselling author with his books The Way Things Ought to Be (1992) and See, I Told You So (1993). From 1992 to 1996, Limbaugh hosted a half-hour television talk show.

Limbaugh frequently accuses the American mainstream media of having a strong liberal bias. He criticizes liberal policies and politicians and promotes positions viewed as conservative.

Grudges by the vanload: Limbaugh has a hate list bigger than his capacious ego. Of course, those on the list are all liberals, some formidable, some fringe. Feminists—in Limbaugh’s terms “femi-Nazis”—argue for equal rights on the job because “they can’t get a man, and their rage is one long PMS attack.” People critical of Los Angeles top cop Daryl Gates “want to abolish the police.” The N.A.A.L.C.P. (National Association for the Advancement of Liberal Colored People) is a “Nazi-like police force” because it wanted to investigate one of its chapters’ support for Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas. Indeed, most black leaders—complacent slaves on the “liberal plantation”—are stripping their people of pride and initiative by insisting on welfare programs and affirmative action.

I also think the NAACP has sold the Black people of this country out. Look at the Clarence Thomas nomination. This guy was the perfect example of what the NAACP used to stand for “Advancement of Colored People”,but no, they opposed him from the start because he wasn’t a Liberal. He worked for what he got and did take advantage of some gov’t programs but NO handouts. So they opposed him for that reason. This all happened before Anita Hill which is another subject. They should change their name to NAALCP, National Association for the Advancement of Liberal Colored People.

The NAALCP may be a bunch of buffoons who really have become nothing more than a lobbying group for the “victim” handout business - but they do not systematically preach hate of other races or religions or see themselves as “knights” who can use violence.

Prologue to a new hope?
Last week, President Obama was the keynote speaker at the NAACP’s 100th anniversary celebration. The NAACP is the premier black civil rights organization founded by Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois and other progressives, including several whites, in 1909. Its storied history boasts of a who’s who among black civil rights activists including: civil rights attorneys Thurgood Marshall, Charles Hamilton Houston, Spotswood Robinson, journalists Ida B. Wells and William E. Walling, social workers Mary White Ovington and Henry Moskowitz, just to name a few.

Conservative talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh coined the phrase “NAALCP” – National Association for the Advancement of LIBERAL Colored People.” He is right. The NAALCP isn’t the least bit concerned with black Republicans and has nothing but loathing and an abnormally irrational contempt for black conservatives. If you doubt me, just ask Justice Clarence Thomas how much love the NAALCP showed him during his Supreme Court nomination hearings in 1991. Or ask Judge Janice Rogers Brown who during her 2005 confirmation hearing to the 2nd Court of Appeals received only hatred and derision from the NAALCP. Both jurists refused to fashion their jurisprudence on the totalitarian cult of liberalism.
