Red Double Cross; Red Double Crossed (Red Cross + double-cross)

The Red Cross (the American Red Cross in the United States) provides emergency assistance and disaster relief, but many people state that Red Cross donations do not reach disaster victims. “American Red Double Cross” (American Red Cross + double-cross) has been cited in print since at least October 2001.

“Red Double Crossed” is another Red Cross nickname, as well as a verb for what the “Red Double Cross” does. “Red Double-Crossed Again” was an article published in the Wall Street Journal on December 2, 2004. “Please do not donate to American Red Double Crossed” was posted on Twitter on September 20, 2017.

“Double Red Cross"/"Double Red Crossed” has also been used.

Wikipedia: American Red Cross

I know this won’t make me anymore popular with Don K., but here is some more info on where your donations are going. Like it or not, things are not as they appear. These are not my words.

Hey it’s better than the Red Double Cross did.

The American Red Double-Cross
By Dr. Len Horowitz
SANDPOINT, Idaho—The American Red Cross (ARC) is widely considered a great American institution. It is generally thought of as among the world’s premier humanitarian organizations. Clearly, almost everyone thinks of it as a life-saving agency. Most people know this non-governmental organization (NGO) to be heavily dependant upon the blood and currency generously donated by the American people. But, what if all of the above is untrue? What if everything you think you know about the American Red Cross is a ghastly nauseating lie?

2 December 2004, Wall Street Journal (New York, NY), pg. A12:
Red Double-Crossed Again
Once upon a time, the International Committee of the Red Cross was a humanitarian outfit doing the Lord’s work to reduce the horrors of war. So it is a special tragedy to see that it has increasingly become an ideological organization unable to distinguish between good guys and bad.
