“Why not move the clocks ahead on a Friday around 4PM?”

"Who came up with the brilliant idea of moving the clocks forward on the weekend...in the middle of the night?? Why not move them ahead on a Friday around 4PM?” is a jocular saying that has been printed on several images. The saying probably first appeared on an ecard.

“Who was the ‘genius’ who decided on moving clocks fwd on the weekend in the middle of the night? Why not move them ahead on a Friday at 4PM?” was posted on Twitter by James Wood on March 8, 2013. “Who came up with the brilliant idea of moving the clocks forward on the weekend? Wikipedia: Daylight saving time
Daylight saving time (DST), also daylight savings time or daylight time (the United States and Canada) and summer time (United Kingdom, European Union, and others), is the practice of advancing clocks during warmer months so that darkness falls at a later clock time. The typical implementation of DST is to set clocks forward by one hour in the spring ("spring forward") and set clocks back by one hour in autumn ("fall back”, from the North American English word “fall” for autumn) to return to standard time. As a result, there is one 23-hour day in late winter or early spring and one 25-hour day in the autumn.
